Emmaco Clubs

At Emmanuel College Kazo, our club system is the heartbeat of student life, meticulously designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world leadership. We offer a vibrant tapestry of extracurriculars where students can find their tribe and hone their unique talents, whether they are getting their hands dirty in the Young Farmer’s Club to master modern agribusiness or sharpening their intellect in the Academics and Writer's Clubs. For those called to service and discipline, our Scouts, Legion of Mary, and Xaverians provide a deep moral and civic foundation, while the Performing Arts and Cycling Clubs offer a dynamic outlet for physical energy and creative expression. Every club is a "mini-laboratory" for our competence-based curriculum, ensuring that our students graduate not just with a certificate, but with the teamwork, confidence, and grit needed to lead in their communities.

EMMACO CLUBS

At Emmanuel College Kazo, we don’t view these groups as a "break" from learning; they are the very soul of our academic system where theory finally meets the real world. Whether it’s the mental battlefield of the Chess Club, the hands-on entrepreneurship in the Young Farmer’s Club, or the discipline forged in the Scouts and Xaverians, these spaces are where our students find the nerve to lead and the grit to succeed. By the time a student leaves Kazo, they aren’t just a person who "knows things"—they are a confident leader who has already practiced how to manage people, solve problems, and serve their community.

Chess Club

In our Chess Club, we teach these young men and women that every move has a consequence, mirroring the real-world decisions they will face as entrepreneurs and community leaders. It’s a space where a student from the Bwayiise slums can sit across from anyone and prove that their intellect is second to none. By mastering the "endgame" on the board, they are learning to plan the "endgame" for their own lives—developing patience, foresight, and the grit to bounce back from a loss. We aren't just playing a game; we are building the grandmasters of tomorrow's Uganda.

Young Farmer's Club

We don't just talk about crops in a classroom; our members are out there in the soil, mastering the "Go Forward, Transform" spirit through hands-on projects. We focus on Climate-Smart Agriculture, teaching these young men and women how to maximize yield in small urban spaces like, manage poultry units, and understand the value chain from seed to market. When a student in this club harvests their first crop or manages a small livestock project, they aren't just learning biology—they are learning resilience, patience, and the fundamental truth that wealth is grown through hard work and smart planning.

Academic Club

We take the "New Lower Secondary Curriculum" and push it to its limit through peer-to-peer facilitation, because you haven't truly mastered a concept until you can explain it to a friend. Through "Brain-Buster" debates and innovation challenges, we force our learners to connect Chemistry or History to the real-world problems we see in Bwayiise. It’s about building those core competencies—critical thinking and collaboration—that make them stand out. When a student’s eyes light up because they finally get a complex theory, that’s when I know we’re doing more than just schooling; we’re igniting a fire.

ICT Club

In today's world, if you aren't digitally literate, you’re speaking a dead language, which is why the ICT Club is a high-tech gateway rather than just a computer class. We teach our students that the keyboard is the new pen, moving beyond basic typing to master business software and digital problem-solving. My goal is for a Kazo tailor to market designs online and a Kazo baker to manage digital accounts, ensuring our learners aren't just consumers of technology, but creators ready for the global stage.

Media Club

In our Media Club, we teach these young men and women that every story has an impact, mirroring the real-world influence they will wield as journalists and public relations experts. It’s a space where a student from the Bwayiise slums can pick up a camera or a microphone and prove that their perspective is second to none. By mastering the "narrative" behind the lens, they are learning to control the "narrative" of their own lives—developing clarity, ethics, and the confidence to speak truth to power. We aren't just taking photos or writing news; we are building the master communicators of tomorrow.

Scouts Club

In our Scouts Club, we teach these young men and women that every action must be rooted in service, mirroring the real-world discipline they will need as ethical leaders and resilient citizens. It’s a space where a student from the Bwayiise slums can don the uniform and prove that their character and sense of duty are second to none. By mastering "survival skills" in the field, they are learning the "survival skills" for life—developing self-reliance, integrity, and the grit to navigate any crisis with a calm mind. We aren't just tying knots or camping; we are building the dependable pioneers of tomorrow.

Legion of Mary

Sspiritual strength is the foundation of service, mirroring the real-world integrity they will need as the moral conscience of their families and neighborhoods. It’s a space where a student from the Bwayiise slums can embrace a higher calling and prove that their character and faith are second to none. By mastering the "duty of care," they are learning the "duty of leadership"—developing a deep sense of responsibility, patience, and the grit to support the vulnerable without seeking reward.

Performing Arts

In our Performing Arts Club, we show these young talents that each performance demands courage—the same boldness they'll need as confident speakers and cultural ambassadors. It's where a student  can take the stage and prove their creativity outshines any limitation. Through "spotlight discipline," they cultivate presence, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and resilience to share their authentic voice under pressure. We're not merely dancing or acting; we're shaping Uganda's future storytellers and influential leaders.
